This next month I am dedicating to looking back at and playing some of the Flash classics. This holiday season is a great time to get a final glimpse of Flash before it all comes to an end (i.e. before we have to emulate it), and really appreciate what it has accomplished.
During this time, I'll be playing games both popular and obscure, massive and small, modern and classic. I hope you can join me in reliving Flash too, to celebrate the Flash player as we know it.
Flash has created some of the most creative works of our generation, and its cultural significance is something we all should appreciate. From the cornerstone of Newgrounds to Castle Crashers to Club Penguin, RotMG, and the BTD series—all of these icons and many more have Flash to thank for.
I've already been dedicating this past year to re-experiencing Flash history, including playing games I've never played before in my childhood. I've went through Coolmath, CPPSs, and especially Newgrounds, and I hope to continue exploring before this year's end.
I hope that you can join me in reliving Flash, too.
It's been 10 days already into Flash December, but I hope we can keep playing these games forever.
If you, wary traveler, happen to stumble upon this, why not take some time to reflect on some of your favorite Flash media? If you can, let me know about it in the comments below. I'm looking especially for older and less well-known pieces of Flash media, since I've already seen and played the popular stuff dozens of times already.
Anyways, if you want a single game to sink your time into go play Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It's a 2019 Flash game and there's a deluxe edition on Steam if you want to play offline.
